What a Day.

Three casualties of wasp stings, and my poor broken knees.  When we got inside I made a paste of baking soda and water and applied it to the stings.  Dyl and Saveia both said it helped a lot, but Zoey didn't want to be touched at all.  She seemed to be the worst off.  She was stung several times on her face, her ear and neck.

She just needed to be held.  It took me about 30 minutes to come down from the adrenaline rush.  I assume she and her siblings had to do the same, but more so.
 She took a short nap.

And felt a little better afterwards.

I think she is the cutest little quasimodo...

I wish someone had recorded me racing down to the creek though.  It was "America's Funniest Home Videos" worthy.  I would have won that $20k prize when I flipped over that log and landed on my face for sure.  Thankfully my looks haven't been damaged too much. ;)  However, my back and neck have something to say about it.

Five wasps had followed us into the house and each time we saw one, the kids freaked out.  Shrieks of, "A bee!  A bee!" and in Zoey's case, "Beebeebeebeebee!" echoed off the bathroom walls until Jonathan killed each and every one.

After the baking soda, and putting Zoey down for a nap, Summer began illustrating a series of pictures she titled It's Not a Good Time To:

For instance, "It's Not a Good Time to Get Married."  The series later morphed into an amalgam of natural disasters including tsunamis, lava flows and earthquakes, but they all started with the idea that a little black and yellow bug could ruin everything.  I did try to stress that the attackers were wasps, not bees.  But I'm not sure the distinction meant anything to the kids.  I did try to explain the difference!

Later, Jonathan put on the Scrat shorts promoting Ice Age 3 for the kids.  In one, Sid gets chased by a swarm of bees.  Not a laugh was had.  Because, it was not funny.

Dylan told me several times that he was never going outside again, or going down to the creek ever again.  I took them for a walk in the afternoon, but they have seriously been traumatized.  Dylan wanted to ride in the stroller at first, with the mesh screen pulled down so no wasps could get him and Zoey.  In the end he rode his tricycle.  And thankfully, we saw no wasps at all.

Our Second Week of Zachary

After watching Zachary get a bath in the sink, Zoey has been found washing her legs, head,and/or  arms in the sink several times.

Every morning after breakfast has been acquired, Zoey's next goal is always, "Baby?"

How sweet it is to be loved by you,
                   and you,
                                 and you...

Is that a smile I see, Zack?

Because Zachary and I are having lots of fun together and no one takes our picture.
And oh my gosh, Zachary started making "expressions" on his two week anniversary.  He's soo cute!

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday

Sunday:
Zachary met the larger church body, and his new little friend Ezekiel who was born a week earlier.

Looking dapper in his plaid jumper.

Chillin'.

Monday:
Daddy was home. We started up our regular routine again.  Chores, breakfast, school, play, play, play.

Saveia reads Green Eggs and Ham to Dylan and Zoey.  Yay!

Zachary gets ready for his evening fuss time.

Maybe I'll hold off for a little while...

Tuesday:
At noon, I tried to wake him up for lunch.  This is how he reacted.

No!  Let me sleep a little longer!

Errgh!

Trying to wake up...

Zoey thinks this is funny.

Awake.  Now what?

Oh, you're going to take my picture some more?

air guitar!!

We went to the library for an easy outing this evening.  When we came home, we hung out in the front yard enjoying the coolness factor.

Saveia's pumpkin plants are actually growing pumpkins.

Saveia's up close shot!

Sunflowers are at least as tall as Mommy.

Dylan, holding his gun amongst the black-eyed susans

Just swinging.

Jonathan stopped by the studio for a quick visit, so I snapped some photos.
