Projects with Patty

While Patty was here we were, of course, uber-ambitious about projects we wanted to get done.  Here are some of the things we attempted, and some that got finished.
Two european pillow shams with flanges.
Patty found this cool Echino fabric by Etsuko Furuya that screams "AFRICA!" what with the elephants, giraffes and antelopes.
We made the back with authentic African painted fabric.  As we do not know the washing instructions for painted fabric, we vow to never wash these pillow cases.
Yes, they are amazing!  Finally, Patty can use those european pillows she bought three years ago.   Below is my favorite project that we did.  It makes my house the happiest.  So, BEFORE:
 And AFTER:

They are sooo cute!!!  I love the fabric.  It makes my heart smile every time I walk downstairs, see them on the floor, and put them back on the couch.  Oh kids!

Ugh.  The project that makes you feel like a failure, the quilt made from Brian's old button downs.  We were soo close to finishing.
This is what Patty's face looked like through the whole project...

So close.  It's going to be very cool when it's all done!
